Mgahinga gorilla national park is part of larger ecosystem, the Virunga Conservation area (434 sq km) which includes two adjacent park in Rwanda and Congo.  Mgahinga Gorilla National in Rwanda and Congo.

Mgahinga Gorilla National park sits high in the clouds at an important habitat for the endangered golden Monkey. Its Most striking features are its three conical, extinct volcanoes, part of the spectacular Virunga range that lies along the border region of Uganda, Congo and Rwanda, Mgahinga forms part of the Much Larger Virunga conservation Area which includes adjacent parks in these countries. The park offers a shooting aura of Majesty with cool temperatures owing to the mountains nature of the park, its home to part of 300 gorillas located in the Virunga Massif .It is indeed where gold meets Silver where gorillas are house with the  with the  same habitat of the golden monkeys. The culture heritage featuring folklore and traditional healing practice for local people covers the north slopes of the three northern Virunga volcanoes-Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabinyo. The park derives its name from “Gahinga” a Kinyarwanda word for a pile of Volcanic lava stone heaps around which cultivation is a carried out. On the other hand Muhavura means guide and Sabinyo means the old man’s teeth. It is bordered to the South by Rwanda and to the West by Congo.

While Sambiyo is deeply eroded with jagged crown and the deep gorges and ravines, Gahinga has Swamp filled –crater lake about 36m wide its summit while at the top of Sabinyo, you get to be set foot in all the three countries of Uganda, DRC,and Rwanda at the same time. Its view of the volcanoes and gorges with cool breeze of freshness is unrivaled. On some of the step mountains slopes are caves formed lava tubes one of them being the famous Garama cave located near Ntebeko, the park headquarters.

HOW TO SURVIVE A CROCODILE ATTACK

AFRICA'S AQUATIC KING. If a Crocodile grabs hold of your arm, it will then go into a death roll. This will twist your arm off, and the Crocodile may then retreat with its snack. Providing that you get immediate First Aid and Medical Attention, you will survive the attack, albeit, without your arm. Best not to be bitten by a Crocodile, in the first place. If you were more fully engulfed by the Croc, you could hold onto it, and roll with  it. Find its earflaps (located just behind its eyes.) Open up its earflaps and stick your fingers in. This will disturb the Crocodile, and it may let you go. This is more effective than attempting to gouge a Crocodile's eyes.
