Overview; Within a short 3 days/2 nights Volcanoes National Park Golden Monkey & Gorilla Trekking Tour in Rwanda. It's led by a Bush trekkers safaris guide focusing purely on the stunning Volcanoes NP, tracking the agile golden monkeys the famous mountain gorillas (more than half of the world's Mountain Gorilla population live in the Volcanoes stretching the borders of Rwanda, Uganda & D. R. Congo).

Itinerary

Day-1

Kigali transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Your private guide, with his/her 4WD vehicle, meets you on arrival at Kigali Airport, either off an international flight, or after a safari elsewhere in Africa or at your residence in Kigali. Leaving the lively capital, you'll drive north-west through lush hills and bustling market towns for approximately 2.5 – 3.5 hours, to the stunning Volcanoes National Park. It's well known as the venue for Dian Fossey's pioneering studies of the mountain gorillas.

 

Main Destination: Volcanoes National Park (Gorillas)

Accommodation: Kinigi Guesthouse

Day-2

Gorilla Trekking Volcanoes National Park

Early in the morning, meet at the park headquarters for a briefing. Then hike up to the rainforest to a troop of magnificent mountain gorillas. Each troop has its own 24-hour guard, so their location is known. You usually have an hour with them, time to sit and observe them at very close quarters indeed. After the Gorilla Trekking experience return back to the lodge. If time allows you may choose to go for optional activities like Gorilla Guardian Village.

Day-3

Golden Monkey Trekking Volcanoes National Park – Kigali

Another early morning starts for a trip to track the golden monkeys. These primates are beautiful, endangered and more agile than the mountain gorillas. They live in bamboo thickets on the lower slopes of the mountains and tracking them acclimatizes you perfectly to the slight altitude marking your last views of the park's environs. Drive for roughly 2.5 – 3.5 hours’ south-east back to Kigali. Your private guide and 4WD vehicle will drop you at your convenience location or at the airport. End.

HOW TO SURVIVE A CROCODILE ATTACK

AFRICA'S AQUATIC KING. If a Crocodile grabs hold of your arm, it will then go into a death roll. This will twist your arm off, and the Crocodile may then retreat with its snack. Providing that you get immediate First Aid and Medical Attention, you will survive the attack, albeit, without your arm. Best not to be bitten by a Crocodile, in the first place. If you were more fully engulfed by the Croc, you could hold onto it, and roll with  it. Find its earflaps (located just behind its eyes.) Open up its earflaps and stick your fingers in.
